Get to Know Brandi Dunham
Hello, I am Brandi, and I am a LICASW.
First and foremost, I value a positive and interactive relationship with clients. It is important in the therapeutic process to have an open and nonjudgmental relationship with clients, allowing them to experience and process feelings, thoughts, and experiences freely. Using a humanistic or person-centered approach, building these therapeutic relationships with clients based on trust, respect, and confidentiality. This approach allows the client to be in the driver’s seat of their mental health treatment by working collaboratively to set meaningful and obtainable goals.
I have worked in the social work field for over ten years, primarily with adults with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses. Working with adults is my passion, and I have been addressing the array of barriers that adults navigate in their daily life when they are also addressing their mental health. I believe in maintaining a positive self-care routine that is person specific. I achieve this in my personal life by traveling, exploring new towns and places, spending time with family, going for walks, and playing with my two elderly dogs.
I moved to Washington in 2022, previously living in Central Texas, El Paso, Texas, and Michigan. I received my bachelor’s degree in Michigan in 2011 and worked in both rural and urban settings. I completed my master’s degree in social work from Walden University to pursue my passion for working with adults in therapy. I received my certification in military-specific services and have experience in medical social work and mental health court.
